12 in 12

I've set a goal, read 12 books in 2012. Now I know compared to the 50 book pledge, my goal may seem, well...lame. But I think I read a half a dozen adult books in 2011, a book a week is just entirely too arduous to even consider. A book a month is much more my style.

I'm open to suggestions. If you've read a book you think I just have to read, leave it in the comments.

Here goes nothing. First up...

1. Seriously...I'm kidding - Ellen Degeneres

That was easy, first book done and it's still January. So technically, I'm ahead of schedule.

For my next few book selections, I think I need to read the books sitting on my bedside table. I wanted to read them, started them, and either couldn't get past the first few chapters or took a reading hiatus. Regardless, it's time I properly get them off the table. So without further ado...

2. Me Talk Pretty One Day - David Sedaris

Update 2/11...This book is failing to capture my attention. I loved When You Are Engulfed in Flames, so I do not blame the author. I almost abandoned it completely but decided I would not allow myself. I wrote it in this list, so by golly, I will press on.

2/29...Finally finished. Good thing it was a leap year.

3. Room - Emma Donoghue

3/8...Wow. Seriously. Wow. Very good read.

4. The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

3/19 to 3/21...Did nothing that wasn't essential until I finished it. Very addictive.

5. Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins

3/24...Even my dreams are about The Games at this point.

6. Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins

3/28...As much as I loved it, I'm quite relieved that my preoccupation with the trilogy has come to an end. As is my husband.

7. Fifty Shades of Grey - E L James

3/30 - ...I'm an erotic fiction virgin, this is my first.

  1. One Day by David Nicholls. The book is WAY better than the movie. A love story that spans decades. I couldn't put it down.
